Two of the best teams in the NFL, and possibly a preview of the Super Bowl later down the line will take place on Sunday Night in prime time when the Chicago Bears host the Houston Texans. Both come into this one sporting identical 7-1 records.
And really when looking at these two, both have been getting it done in a variety of ways, but starting on the defensive side of the ball.
Chicago has been far and away the most potent defense in the NFL this season, scoring eight defensive touchdowns in eight games. That certainly makes things easier on Jay Cutler and the offense when your defense is putting up scores.
Houston hasn’t been lackluster scoring defensively either though, notching four scores in their matchups.
It’s been the game changing plays that have define both of these teams’ success. Combined they have just two losses, though ironically coming at the hands of the same team.
The Green Bay Packers.
This one looks very much like it could come down to a handful of big plays, or which team is able to get that big special teams or defensive score.
Houston might have the slight advantage on the offensive side of the ball, though both are very capable. they match up well at running back with Arian Foster and Matt forte, both of whom are among the best at catching the ball out of the backfield.
Cutler and Matt Schaub can both sling it down the field, and both have one big receiving target. For Schaub it’s Andre Johnson. For Cutler, it’s Brandon Marshall.
The winner of this game will certainly notch a marquee victory. Especially if Houston is able to go on the road at night into Soldier Field and get the victory, that would really say something about how this team performs in tough situations.
