With the NFL entering Week 10 of the season, here are a couple of important things we think deserve some attention going in.
1. Will The Falcons Remain Unbeaten?
Atlanta goes on the road to New Orleans to take on Drew Brees and the Saints. This is the first game of the season between these two division rivals. If the Saints hope to keep their playoffs aspirations alive, they will need this one. They can’t afford to fall to 3-6 with all of the talent in the NFC this season. Atlanta will try to move to 9-0, and are slight favorites in the Superdome on Sunday afternoon. Two of the top offenses in the NFL and two of the top quarterbacks in the league will be squaring off head-to-head in this one in Matt Ryan and Drew Brees.
2. A Possible Super Bowl Preview On Sunday Night?
Two 7-1 teams face off from the AFC and the NFC on Sunday night in prime time, when the Houston Texans visit the Chicago Bears. Both are right at the top of the list of Super Bowl favorites, and are playing excellent football. It’s funny that each of these teams’ losses have come from the Green Bay Packers. It’s a bit surprising that this game isn’t not getting talked about more coming into the weekend.
3. The Eagles? The Cowboys? Who Keeps Hope Alive This Weekend?
The Eagles and Cowboys matchup in Philadelphia in the late afternoon wave of games on Sunday. Both sit at 3-5 on the season, with the loser likely falling out of playoff contention. The Eagles are 6-0 in their last NFC East division, games, and seem to play their division tough, but lose every other game. Should be an interesting match up though, with Tony Romo having a good history in the month of November.
Already Observed From Thursday Night
Folks, the Indianapolis Colts are serious AFC playoff contenders. I know, i Know, they beat a terrible Jacksonville team to move to 6-3. But that is exactly what good teams are supposed to do. Go on the road, and dominate competition that you are supposed to dominate. Say what you want about this win, it was perhaps the most impressive win for me this year when watching Indianapolis. The measure of a good team is beating the teams you are supposed to, and the Colts did just that.
