Predicting the way the first six weeks in the 2013 NFL season have gone thus far would have been pretty difficult. We’ve got teams who were highly thought of tanking, and teams that many didn’t give much of a chance soaring high. Whether or not there are pretenders with solid records or contenders with poor records at this point will work itself out down the line.
As it stands now though, we have our top-five NFL teams according to our power rankings that we’ve formed. It’s not just about record here at NFLSeasonSchedules.com it’s about the quality wins, and the way they’ve looked on the field.
Let’s not waste anymore time, and get right into the top-five power rankings heading into Week 6 of the season.
Most probably have the Broncos up here at the top spot, and rightfully so. At this point it doesn’t matter much what the defense does, because the offense is so darn good. But Von Miller is expected to be back soon and that will make this team even better. If Manning continues to play like this, we are looking at a 15 or 16-win season for Denver with the No.1 seed in the AFC.
We like to brag here when we’re right and NFLSeaosnSchedules.com was spot on for the Saints, having them in our power rankings well before most of the the major outlets did. New Orleans is a completely different team than last year and virtually unbeatable at home. Between Seattle and New Orleans, no team wants to go on the road to play them. Drew Brees and company get a tough test this week on the road against New England.
We were very close to putting Indianapolis here in this spot, and maybe by next week we will. But as of now, the Seahawks get the No.3 spot in our power rankings. Seattle needs to get better on the road but there isn’t a better team in the NFL than this one. The defense is stout, and when things get going on the ground it’s going to be easy on quarterback Russell Wilson.
Watching Andrew Luck this past week he made throws that were downright unbelievable. We are believers in Luck, and he looks like he’s only going to get more comfortable with this NFL system. Expect Luck to be in the running for MVP by the end of the season, and having the Colts prime to host at least one home playoff game.
Defensively, the Kansas City Chiefs are top-five in the NFL. Combine that with the weapons on offense like Jamaal Charles and Kansas City is becoming a nicely rounded team. Andy Reid has this team turned around right away, and with their upcoming schedule, it’s quite possible that they sit 9-0 against Denver in a few weeks when they matchup. Look out Peyton, Kansas City is for real, and only getting more confident.
