Here at NFLSeasonchedules.com our focus is on a lot of different things related to the NFL. But as you can tell by our domain name, the name focus has to do with the schedule for the year, whether it be in the preseason, regular season, or the postseason. We also like to ke an eye on a variety of different things relating to the NFL season.
In this case, with it being the middle of May, there are obviously no gamed going on as we await the start of the 2013 regular season. However, we try to be on the lookout for interesting stories, or betting odds.
We happened to find a couple of odds for the 2013 NFL Season relating to the Super Bowl favorites, and the biggest underdogs heading into the year. The San Francisco 49ers are at the top of the list of favorites to win Super Bowl XLVIII this upcoming season. To get to the Jacksonville Jaguars though, you have to go through the other 30 teams until you find their payout.
Bovada Sportsbook has list a betting line for both the 49ers and the Jaguars in 2013, and how many games during the regular season that each will be favored.
And just like there is a large disparity on their Super Bowl odds, the same can be said for the spread between the two predictions of favorites in each game.
For San Francisco, Bovada has set that over/under total on the number of times they’ll be favored at 12.5. That means that the 49ers are projected to be favorites in just about every game that they play. But if they aren’t who might they be underdogs against? Looking at the schedule for the 49ers our best guess is that they might be underdogs potentially in Week 1 home against Green Bay, on the road in Week 2 at Seattle, Week 11 at New Orleans. Other than that though, at least on paper San Francisco should be favored.
Then we look at Jacksonville, with a big 2.5 games over/under total for the number of times they are expected to be the favorites. It’s likely that they will be favored in Week 1 versus Kansas City, as the Chiefs were the only team in front of them for the NFL Draft. Then potentially Arizona in Week 11, and Buffalo in Week 15. Even the possibility of Tennessee in Week 16, but it probably ends there.
And by the way, a wager on either side of the over/under total for both lines is set at -115 on the moneyline, meaning every $1.15 wagered profits $1.
