Five Reasons The Atlanta Falcons Can Win Super Bowl XLVII

The Atlanta Falcons faithful have had plenty of reasons to be happy about the accomplishments of the team over the last several seasons. They have put together a very strong team, that produces wins and playoff appearances.

But with that, you always want more.

Unfortunately for the Falcons, regular season success has not yet translated into the postseason. Each of the last two years, Atlanta has gone one-and-done in the playoffs. That includes an inept two-point outing against the New York Giants last season. Continue reading

Three Super Bowl Contenders With Odds Greater Than 20/1

So by now we know all of the favorites to win the Super Bowl. At the top of the list are the New England Patriots and the Green Bay Packers. And that shouldn’t come as a surprise.

Then just below these top favorites, are other teams with high expectations. Teams like San Francisco, Houston, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Denver.

But what about the teams in the second half of the odds. The teams who are not favored, and considered underdogs. Continue reading

Patriots Overtake Packers As 2013 Super Bowl Favorites

The New England Patriots have overtaken the Green Bay Packers as the new favorites to win the 2012-13 Super Bowl. It’s an interesting change considering that we are still in the preseason, and these odds don’t typically shift.

However, Green Bay and New England were very close even before this change at the top was made.

In fact, they flip-flopped. Continue reading

For The Jaguars Sake Maurice Jones-Drew Must Stay

I can tell you this, if The Jacksonville Jaguars let Maurice Jones-Drew get away, it would be a huge mistake. But the word around the league is that MJD might be open to a possible trade. And from his point of view, who could really blame him.

Jacksonville was dead last in the league in passing in 2011, though Jones-Drew led the NFL in rushing. Continue reading

Which Quarterback Do You Want In With The Game On The Line?

Down by a score, two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, and you need the win to make the postseason.

Who is your quarterback?

Aaron Rodgers? Tom Brady? Drew Brees? Peyton Manning?

Those are certainly all great choices, as these players have proven over and over that they can lead their team to a win late in the game. Continue reading

Is Brandon Marshall The Key To The Chicago Bears Success?

Preseason in the NFL is a time that is used differently by coaches to some extent but for the most part it all boils down to a few goals looking to get accomplished.

Roster spots are on the line for some hopefuls as they attempt to make the most of their playing time. In addition, getting those starters back acclimated to game speed is key as well. But the preseason can also help build continuity for the coming season, especially with a quarterback and new receiver. Continue reading

Will The New York Giants Repeat As Super Bowl Champions?

The New York Giants once again got hot at the right time of the NFL season, and rolled through the playoffs on into the Super Bowl where they met a familiar foe. Same story, same result, as the Giants knocked off the New England Patriots for a second time.

But after their first Super Bowl championship, New York failed to make the playoffs in the season following. Continue reading

Problems Already Arise For Tim Tebow, Mark Sanchez And The New York Jets

We all knew it was going to be an interesting ride for the New York Jets in 2012 behind Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow.

And it’s already started in the preseason. But it’s not a controversy. It’s more of an issue of whether or not either one of these quarterbacks will be productive at all. Continue reading

2012 NFL Season Week 1 Preview

We are less than three weeks away from the start of the NFL regular season, so it’s about time to take a look at the opening week and see what’s on the schedule.

For the first time ever, the NFL season will open up on a Wednesday. And it’s great match up right out of the gate. Continue reading

2012 AFC West Division Preview

It’s pretty safe to assume that the AFC West will have more interest than in the past couple of seasons. Though Tim Tebow definitely brought some intrigue to the Broncos and the AFC West race, albeit an 8-8 Denver team won it in 2011. It was pretty exciting.

But that pales in comparison to the 2012 season, with Peyton Manning coming to Denver, as Tebow was traded to the New York Jets. in essence, no matter how compelling Tebow might have been for Denver that is nothing compared to what the organization believed that Manning could do. Continue reading
