Throughout the course of this season, we’ve done plenty of power rankings where individual teams are assessed and rated. This week though we are going to take a new approach and singling out the quarterbacks in the NFL in a power ranking of sorts. With this being a pivotal time in the season, teams with the best quarterbacks will give themselves the best opportunities to win. And while of course football is no one-man team, it certainly helps to have a guy under center that can make any throw asked of him. Continue reading

Ok, count us in as jumping on board with the Carolina Panthers now. They’ve done enough to this point to warrant some recognition. They have won seven games in a row, and during that streak have victories over teams like San Francisco and New England. Quarterback Cam Newton is impressing, and the Panthers are playing well on both sides of the ball.
There are no more undefeated teams in the NFL following the Kansas City Chiefs’ loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday night. The two will rematch in two Sundays so the Chiefs will get a quick opportunity to exact revenge on their field.
How big is the matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Denver Broncos? Well, the NFL doesn’t often flex its schedule to adjust for a game, but that is exactly what it did in this case. Originally the primetime game on Sunday night was between the Green Bay Packers and New York Giants. But that game was moved to 4:25 pm ET switching places with the Chiefs and Broncos.
We are bringing back the power rankings again for this week. As we’ve said in week past we will do this every couple of weeks or so to let some things develop versus going week to week and form more identity about how the league is shaping up.
Most teams have played eight games this season with a few exceptions, but for the majority about half of the games have been completed. With that in mind, we felt it to be a great time to take the opportunity to make some predictions at the halfway mark of the

NFL analysts throw out statistics all the time about teams in certain positions having the chance to make the playoffs, and how many teams in history have done various things. At this point in the season through six games, it’s pretty clear for the majority of teams as to who the contenders are going to be for the rest of the way. But it’s not the case for every single one.
Week 5 of the 2013 NFL season looks like it will be a really good one heading into Sunday. We get a couple of great inter-conference showdowns, as well as some matchups that teams have to win in order to keep their season going.
